About the tours You can meet the dogs and enjoy learning about one of the most important modes of transport in the north. These dogs are essential to life in arctic conditions and were relied on for centuries to stay alive. You will understand the community love and respect for animals in the Northwest Territories. When the time comes, you will slide into a cozy sled with you and a friend or two. The full team of twelve dogs will be set into action by your skilled musher who will guide the dog team into the forest as you circle the lake and head into the woods. Winter Activities This activity is included in our winter activities afternoon where you will be joined by other guests who are booked on other activities at the Village. In addition to your Dog Team Ride Experience, you will enjoy a host of other winter fun including tubing on the giant slide, marshmallow roasting on the fire pit, and trying out the traditional snowshoes for a quick walk or photo op, etc all included in the tour price. You will have about three hours to take in the winter afternoon in a safe, comfortable, and beautiful environment. We have heated washrooms and place to warm up where you can help yourself to complimentary hot drinks. Cancellation Policy
If a booking needs to be canceled due to flight cancellation or personal issues, 7 days or more prior to the first day of arrival, there will be no charge. For cancellations made 5-7 days prior to arrival, 50% of the total price will be charged, and for cancellations made 3 days or less prior to arrival, 100% of the total price will be charged. We highly recommend that you purchase travel cancellation and interruption insurance in advance
